Art Avenue is a pedestrian area from the main square of the city and almost to the Catherine Church. It is one of the favorite places of the rest of the locals, because in the summer time there are always concerts, dances, exhibitions of masters.

The first name of the alley - Heroes Alley - is related to the history of its appearance. From the beginning, architect Viktor Ustynov designed the alley in such a way so that the busts of Soviet figures were along the alley. Now these figures are removed. The history of the alley is also the personal history of the architect, who visited almost all the relatives, whose busts were erected on the pedestals.

The architect died in 92 years. Before his death, he said that the fountains on the alley were designed himself and specifically he made them lower so that they will not barrier the view on the Catherine Church.

In the spring of 2018, on the alley began a thorough overhaul, and in September, on the City Day, it welcomed its first Art Avenue guests.
