"House with an arch" is one of the oldest residential buildings in Chernihiv, which has survived to this day. It was erected in the first half of the XIX century. The first floor with an arch was made of brick, the second was wooden. In the middle or second half of the XIX century the second floor was lined with decorative ceramic tiles, window sills and cornices were carved with wood. Already in the XX century the tiles were hidden under a layer of plaster. In the early XX century a friend and family doctor of the Kotsiubynskyi family Utevskyi rented an apartment here.
