The Church of Kazan God Mother Icon was erected in 1820–1827 to commemorate the victory in the Franco-Russian War (1812). It is a brick, one-sided structure with small rooms adjacent to the central cubic volume on four sides with a bell tower on the western square plan.

In the Soviet period, the Church of Kazan God Mother Icon was partially destroyed, especially such rooms as bath (dome) and a bell tower were destroyed. After 1943, the temple building was used as a hall of the Philharmonic where the comedians Shtepsel and Tarapunka acted. Until 1984 a repair office and an assembly plant was located in the building of the church. It was not until the late 1980s that the temple was rebuilt and returned to the religious community in the 1990s.
