Shchors Cinema was opened in 1939 in a specially erected building for 450 seats. In 1941–1943, the cinema building was badly damaged by hostilities, but was one of the first to be restored in the city. In addition to showing films, concert programs of brass bands were held here. In 1962, the cinema was significantly rebuilt and expanded. In 1993, the cinema building was damaged by fire, but was restored. Since 2017, Chernihiv Regional Youth Center has been located here.
