Liskovytsia is an ancient historical district of Chernihiv. The Museum of Local History is dedicated to the history of this area. The exhibits were collected by enthusiasts and locals who were inspired by the idea of creating a museum dedicated to their favorite neighborhood. Here you can see old photographs and documents, rare household items and furniture.

The idea of creating a museum belongs to local historian Gerard Kuznetsov. Together with a group of likeminded people, directors of local museums and public figures, he created an exposition of the historic city center.

Liskovytsia was the main industrial area, where merchants, fishermen and bakers lived. According to historical data, the area was named because of the dense forests growing on its territory. Many local historians claim that a while ago the territory of Liskovytsia belonged to the son of Prince Davyd Svyatoslavovych - Mykola Svyatosha.

Among the exhibits of the museum are rare objects of the beginning of the XX century and the times of World War II, which include ancient cameras, music players, military helmets, cartridges and many other things.
