The monument-bust of Russian classic Alexander Pushkin is the oldest monument in the territory of the Dytynets (Rampart). It was installed over 100 years ago. The whole city raised funds for its opening: private donations, literary evenings and council money.
Pushkin himself visited Chernihiv twice: in 1820 and 1824. Both times he stayed at the Hotel "Tsargrad". The hotel stood on the main street of Chernihiv. Taras Shevchenko also came here.
In 2018, the bust disappeared from the pedestal, but police were able to find it. From that time bust is under the Police protection.
