The Resurrection Church was built in 1772–1775. For its construction they used building materials from the ruins of the Resurrection Church of the 17th century, from the territory of the Chernihiv fortress. The church was built in the style of mixing late Baroque and Classicism. The city cemetery was located around the church. During the Soviet era, the church was closed, but in the postwar period, services were resumed here. Along with Voskresenska (Resurrection) in 1779 the Hryhorivska (George's) church with a bell tower was built. Its architectural style has undeniable influences of classicism, which is emphasized by the completion of the bell tower with a spire. During the Soviet era, a road was built between the churches. In 2019, the integrity of the architectural ensemble was restored.
