St. Michael's church is a newly built church of the Diocese in Chernihiv, located at the corner of Myru Avenue and 50 years of VLKSM and Heroes of Chernobyl streets. The temple was built in 2001, in a year it was consecrated and in 2011the construction was completed. 


The temple was named in honor of Archangel Michael. Archangel Michael was glorified in Kievan Rus from the ancient times. In his honor, temples and monasteries were built throughout Rus. The architecture of the Archangel Michael's Temple is unique: it is a round (rotund) temple. The Temple of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem also has a rotunda-shaped dome. 


The project of this Church is owned by Kyiv architecture Oleh Sleptsov. But in the process of construction, the project was changed at the request of the church community. The project of the bell tower, as well as the improvement of the territory was executed by Chernihiv architect Viktor Ustynov. The main decoration of the temple is the iconostasis, it is 3-tiered. The project of the iconostasis as well as the carving was executed by Korets.
