Monument to the liberators of Chernihiv is located in the front of the railway station. This is not a model or sculpture; it is a real World War II tank. On the pedestal tank had drove itself.

There is a legend in the city that several drunken men tried to steal a tank on the night of the installation. They climbed into it and went down from the earthen slope, which was filled up to make the tank drive on it. Sort of, there was fuel left in the tank, and the machinery itself has not yet been fixed.

What`s next? The first story tells that the guys were traveling long and stubborn; the police even had to open fire. The second story says that the fuel was enough to leave, and then the tank did not go. But these are just retellings that have emerged from similar stories about monuments in Tver and Budapest.

When the Chernihiv tank came on the pedestal, everyone pulled out of it. Chernihiv journalists even checked whether it was possible to climb inside. It is impossible.
