There is a legend that Hlibov, while he was in Paris, met a woman whom he liked very much and invited to Chernihiv, but she refused. To attract her, he built this house which looked like a small chivalric castle. But that's not everything he did! Hryhorii Hlibov himself was also an interesting personality.
Hryhorii Hlibov originated from the nobles of Chernihiv province. He was born in 1856. The writer graduated from the University of St. Voladymyr where he obtained a law degree, then he studied at the Moscow Agricultural Academy. Since 1890 H. Hlibov was Chernihiv county leader of the nobility, in 1907 he was elected to the III State Duma from landowners of Chernihiv province and was a member until 1911. Over time Hlibov emigrated abroad where he died in 1932.
