The legend about the railway station
The history of the Chernihiv railway station begins in the post-war period, when the building of the train station had to be completely rebuilt after the bombing during the Second World War. Witnesses say it was built by German and Hungarian prisoners of war under the project of renovation by the architect Henadiy Hranatkin.
Some residents of the city claim that it was the German who drew sketches of the Chernihiv station building. People explain such thoughts because of the architectural decisions, which were essentially, fault to meet the requirements of existing Soviet architecture, which was not characterized by luxury and pomp. Still we do not know for sure true it or not.
With legends or without, the Chernihiv railway station is one of the most beautiful and worth seeing.
